ESTORIL COAST
A 10 minute drive north-east from the capital will send you into the spectacular coastal area of Estoril, Sintra and Cascais. Great golf courses such as the classic old Estoril Golf Course (a regular home of the Portuguese Open), as well as the Penha Longa Golf Resort, will give you plenty of time to hone your golfing skills. The golf however would have to compete with the terrific scenery in the area, with the luxury yachts, wonderful beaches, and a world class racing circuit only a few of the attractions. And don’t forget to dine out along this coast during sunset, where you’ll be introduced to some of Portugal’s finest cuisine.

ÓBIDOS
Approximately one hour north (by car) from Lisbon, the picturesque medieval walled town of Óbidos is one of the most visited sites in the country. Portugal’s national monument, Óbidos boasts ancient ruins and churches, castles and other architectural jewels – all in a well-preserved state. This historic little town will provide you with a valuable lesson on age-old Portuguese history and tradition, and its peaceful, laid back atmosphere stands in contrast to the buzz of the capital and its magnificent coastline.
